NU-00002 - the Officer's Shirt, a perfect representation of one of the key tenets of our practice; to do all things well. To use the best materials + makers + timeless silhouettes in order that the clothes we love will grow in richness, and hopefully one day reach the great heights of our dog-eared favourites, heavy with memory + vibrations.
Here a princely corduroy, soft as butter, and fine as a silk handkerchief, washed and dusty-toned, the cooler memories paleing into the background as we remember only the warmth of a gentle touch.
Wear it tucked and open beneath a blazer, or over a t-shirt with tails floating modestly about your glutes. And wear it until it's threadbare, pile-less, and nap free. Maybe I'm in a fever, but there's suddenly something very rock'n'roll about corduroy!
The styling of our Officer's is both casual + military - it has twin-needling, a large pocket, soft loose-lined collars + cuffs, - all this executed in the traditional, formal, old bespoken manner, which these days means in a very luxurious way, - with a single-needle machine, cautiously and laboriously sewn using very fine stitches and thread. The points are sharp and the curves are round.
It fits neatly through the shoulders, with plenty of grace and flow around the body.
We've given these shirts an unusually ferocious wash to get the party started. Expect dusty tones and the beginnings of the ageing process around the seams and raised areas.
